Jaffe’s arena-shooter Drawn to Death will be free for PS Plus members next month on release day

15 Mar

Arena shooter Drawn to Death is the first PlayStation Plus game to be announced for April.

What’s more, the day it becomes available for Plus members will be Drawn to Death’s release day, April 4.

Announced during Sony’s PlayStation Experience in 2014, the third-person shooter brawler takes place inside the pages of a notebook. Created by a high-school student, the drawings come to life and shoot it out in competitive online action.

Since its announcement, David Jaffe and his team at The Bartlet Jones Supernatural Detective Agency have added new features to the game, which he detailed in full over on the PS Blog.

  • Sphinx Missions: Wake the Sphinx and solve eight battle-focused riddles. For every riddle solved, a new weapon or level will be unlocked.
  • Character-centric Missions: Besides leveling, players can take on 15 missions per each of the six launch characters. Earn costumes and rare Taunts working through characters. Master all character missions and the player could come “face to face with the Volcano God.”
  • Mystery Boxes: The boxes are filled with taunts and character skins. Get a free Mystery Box by playing three matches online and then earn Mystery Boxes for every 150 kills on the battlefield.
  • Climb the Tower: The launch tower is based on the theme Dark Fairy Tales. Play in ranked mode and earn a chance to reach the top of the tower. A sticker will be handed out for every floor reached.
  • Insane Mystery Special Offer: A surprise not ready to be detailed – only the hint: “Destroy my enemies and my life… is yours!”

If you’d like a look at the game in-action, Jaffe and co. will be hosting a livestream on Twitch later today.

It kicks off at 3pm PT/6pm ET/10pm Uk.

You can pre-order each title through both the US PS Store and the EU PS Stores.

You can grab No Man’s Sky for the low price of £14 through the PS Plus Double Discount sale

9 Mar

PlayStation Plus subscribers in Europe can take advantage of double discounts on the PlayStation Store for the next couple of weeks. See a game on sale you like? Then add it to your cart and enjoy the savings.

Take The Witcher 3 for example: it is currently on sale for £19.99 with an extra 20% off if you are a PS Plus member. But, since double discounts are in play, Plus members will see an extra 20% taken off when the game is added to the cart – making it an extra 40% off in total. So, you’re getting one of the best games ever (in my opinion) for a super cheap £11.99.

And, if you want to finally give No Man’s Sky a go, especially now the Path Finder update is live with planetary vehicles, base sharing, and PS4 Pro support, Plus members can get for £13.99.

The Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Digital Deluxe edition which comes with Modern Warfare is 36% off with doubel discount. So, instead of paying the current sale price of £77.89, as a Plus member you will pay £49.85.

Below, you will find the full list of games available for double discount courtesy of the EU PS Blog. The sale ends on March 22.

PlayStation Plus March Games 2017 Are Official Now, Same as Leaked

1 Mar

Some days ago, a NeoGAF user has posted an image detailing the PlayStation Plus March Games. According to the image, said games should have been Tearaway Unfolded, an enhanced version of the game released on PlayStation Vita in 2013, and Disc Jam, a sports action game. The funny thing about this rumor is that it was […]

PlayStation Plus games confirmed for March include Tearaway Unfolded, Earth Defense Force 2025, Severed

PlayStation Plus games for March have been announced, confirming leaks earlier this week.

The PS Plus games for March were announced on both the US PS Blog and the EU PS Blog.

PlayStation 4 users can download Tearaway Unfolded, the remastered console version of Vita title Tearaway. Also available is Disc Jam, an action-sports game that pits 2-4 players against each other in a combination of air hockey and tennis.

Along with the aforementioned, the PS4 and Vita cross buy title Lumo can also be downloaded through March.

Also available are the visual novel/2D fighting game crossover Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late and Earth Defense Force 2025. Both are available on PlayStation 3.

EA PS4 Publisher Sale ends on Feb. 28 – get discounts on Battlefield 1, FIFA 17, more

25 Feb

EA is hosting a Publisher Sale on the PlayStation Store, and if you’re an Xbox player don’t worry: you’ll get your chance next week.

Apparently, the sale has been going on since February 21, but for some reason we are just now aware of it. Probably because many of the titles are part of the PS Store Critics Sale.

But, the good news is the sale runs until February 28, so you still have plenty of time to hop on the discount train.

Some of the deals are rather nice, actually, such as the FIFA 17 Super Deluxe Edition which normally runs $99.99, and is on sale for up to 67% off at $69.99. The standard and Deluxe Edition of the sports title are also on sale.

The standard, Deluxe and Ultimate editions of Battlefield 1 are up to 50% off. The latter version comes with the Battlefield 1 Premium Pass, three themed packs, five Battlepacks and more for $79.99 instead of the regular $129.99, so you’re saving 40%.

Standard, Deluxe and Super Deluxe versions of Madden NFL 17 and NHL 17 are also up to 67% off. Titanfall 2 is on sale for 50% off (60% off if a Plus sub), and this includes both the standard and Deluxe Edition.

UFC 2, Star Wars: Battlefront, Battlefield 4 and Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 are also on sale.

Again, if you are a PS Plus sub, you can take an extra 10% some of the offers available.

Xbox One users can look forward discounted EA titles February 28 through March 13. We’ll let you know when the sale is live once Microsoft updates its Deals with Gold notice.

The PlayStation Critic’s Choice sale discounts last year’s best games

21 Feb

The PlayStation Store has a sale on some of the previous year’s strongest titles. Think of it as being like the Oscars, except you’re the only winner.

The Critic’s Choice sale, which is currently live on the US store (but not yet here in Australia, it seems), cuts the prices of a whole heap of games. Few of these price cuts are super dramatic, but you can still save big on some great titles (I’m inclined to grab Darkest Dungeon at that price).

A few pre-2016 titles pop up in here as well, including Diablo 3, Life is Strange, and most of the games in the PS3 sale.

For the prices below, the numbers in bold are the price for PlayStation Plus subscribers, while the numbers in front of them are for non-subscribers.

Sadly, it’s not as long of a period as North America gets, but it’s free.

LittleBigPlanet 3 and Not A Hero head PlayStation Plus February line-up

There’s a couple of nice Cross-Buy titles on offer as well, according to both the North American and EU PS Blog.

As you noted by the headline, PlayStation 4 titles LittleBigPlanet 3 and Not a Hero are both part of the February PlayStation Plus line-up. But there’s more.

PS3 users can download narrative, psychological horror puzzler Anna: Extended Edition as well as Cross-Buy (PS4) title Starwhal. The latter is a local multiplayer space fighting game starring Narwhals, of course. It’s rather popular on Steam.

There are also two PS Vita titles with PS4 Cross-Buy: action-platformer Ninja Senki DX and TorqueL, a 2D “rolling” & “extend” platformer- action puzzle game.

January 2017 free PlayStation Plus games revealed, PS4 players get four games

3 Jan

The games PlayStation Plus members are getting for free this month.

Sony unveiled the list of free PlayStation Plus games for January 2017 a few days after we went on holiday, but we have returned to get you all caught up on all necessary details.

First up, on PS4 we have Day of the Tentacle Remastered, which also supports cross-buy with PS Vita. This War of Mine: The Little Ones is the other PS4 freebie.

That’s not all, though, thanks to some of the Vita and PS3 games supporting cross-buy, PS4 owners get two extra games. These will be The Swindle, available on all three, and Titan Souls, available on PS4 and Vita.

Blazerush is the PS3-only game of choice this month, and Azkend 2 is PS Vita’s.

As ever, the games will be available when the store updates in your region. Until then, you can make sure you picked up December’s haul.

PlayStation Experience 2016 kicks off today – watch all announcements here via the livestream

3 Dec

Hello PlayStation fans. Tune in with us to watch the PlayStation Experience 2016 main presentation live from sunny Anaheim, California.

As usual, we will be covering the main showcase, which starts at 10am PT/1pm ET/6pm UK.

Along with the keynote, viewers at home can expect plenty of gameplay demos to be streamed live, and there are six developer panels planned, three of which will take place today, December 3. PSX 2016 also runs through Sunday, December 4 which is when the other three panels take place.

We will post the schedule for you and the stream embed in another post.

Today, we expect some game reveals, new footage of upcoming games, some PlayStation VR goodness and other fun video game things.

Those attending PSX 2016 will be able try plenty of games thanks to the large number of publishers and developers attending the event.

Bungie is headed to the show, per a tweet from DeeJ, so it’s possible we can expect some nice nuggets of information for aspiring Iron Lords.

Another announcement could be the the rumored Uncharted 4 DLC, possibly some Final Fantasy 15 info even though it’s not listed as playable on the show floor.

Horizon Zero Dawn information is a given, and we expect some Days Gone and God of War goodness.

It would be grand if some Final Fantasy 7 Remake details were handed out, but we won’t hold our breath on that.

Quantic Dream is working on Detroit: Become Human, so it could also make an appearance and even Media Molecule’s PS4 exclusive Dreams. We’d like to see a bit more on Rayman creator Michael Ancel’s Wild, as it tickles our fancy a bit. We’d like to hear more about What Remains of Edith Finch from Giant Sparrow which recently gained a publisher through Megan Ellison’s film production company, Annapurna.

It’s also possible we’ll see more on Rainbow 6 Siege, Resident Evil 7, Star Wars Battlefront Rogue One: Scarif and The Last Guardian. Maybe even some major news on Shenmue 3 will drop since information on the game has been rather barren of late. But with Ys Net deep in development, that’s to be expected.

Whatever the case, there will be plenty of news out of the show if previous years are any indication.

PSX is also playing host to the Capcom Cup 2015. It takes place Sunday, December 6 and features 32 Street Fighter players going head-to-head to take home a portion of the $250,000 prize pool. The grand prize is a whopping $125,000.

You can watch the feed live for it on Twitch or on YouTube.

So, join us for the main presentation today. Again, it starts at 10am PT/1pm ET/6pm UK and we expect it to last anywhere from one to one and a half hours. The YouTube embed is above, but it’s also available to watch through Twitch.

As usual, all news will be posted on the site and we will cap the day off with a nice round up post, because things tend to get lost on the front page during events.
