Latest Conan Exiles patch contains some nice fixes, but it broke waterskins

16 Feb

If you have been on a short break from Conan Exiles, you should know a patch was issued yesterday. It fixed quite a few things, but also broke a rather important item: the waterskin.

The patch notes on Steam main mention of various fixes being applied to the loading screens and server performance, and NPCs in Conan Exiles should also be “less jittery” when rotating.

However, along with those welcome fixes, some known issues have occurred with the update in the process.

One is the aforementioned waterskin which can no longer be filled at a nearby river once the patch is applied.

It can still be filled from a well, so hopefully you aren’t far from one. Funcom said it currently investigating the issue.

Other issues include inventory issues which can be solved upon relogging, and it seems issues are also being reported with explosive jars and jump “boosting”. Also, foundations and placeables no longer have a a visible preview when in single player/local mode. Dedicated multiplayer servers aren’t experiencing this issue, it seems.

Here’s more known issues currently being addressed:

  • Looting several bags with “Loot All” causes items to disappear.
  • Dropping multiple items into a bag causes items to be invisible.
  • Dismantling crafting stations with items in them will sometimes not drop a loot bag. Other times, a small lootbag will drop, which grows in size once players interact with it.

Now that the known issues are out of the way, you can look over the latest patch notes below.

Performance and Tech fixes

  • Fixes to loading screens
  • Server performance fixes
  • NPCs should be less jittery when rotating
  • Fix for connecting to servers via the Steam server browser and when using Steamconnect
  • Buildings should now load in much faster
  • Placeables placed on foundations and ceiling tiles are now saved correctly
  • Several improvements to how rocks behave when they are harvested

General Bug Fixes and Improvements

  • Small Placeables no longer claim land
  • NPC camps now have their own land claim zone to prevent people from building so close to them that they stop spawning NPCs

  • Ranged weapons should now always fire correctly
  • Rhinos should no longer try to walk through players
  • Palisades now correctly deal damage on contact
  • Palisades should now be easier to place
  • Fixed a case where players were able to destroy rocks with their fists. Sorry, but this privilege is reserved only for Conan himself.
  • Fixed an issue where interactable objects would spam “Press E to interact” on the GUI
  • Added a directional arrow to many Placeables to help players orient them correctly
  • The Offering of Mitra recipe now correctly requires 1 human heart and 1 unblemished meat
  • Fixed an issue with stair placement detection
  • Gongs and Horns are now audible over greater distances
  • Added new emotes that can be learned by tracking down Story NPCs and getting them to teach you

Balance and Gameplay Fixes

  • Some skill requirements have been simplified or removed. For example, it is now possible to learn Journeyman Craftsman as soon as you hit level 10. Due to the impact of this change all players have gotten a free skill respec.
  • Ansel now respects collision, preventing people from moving through walls and other structures
  • Non Admins are restricted to 2 meters of movement when using Ansel
  • We have done an overhaul on what monsters can damage which tier of buildings. If you haven’t upgraded from sandstone you might want to think about doing that.
  • Increased crafting XP across the board with greater increases for crafting more complex (higher tier) items
  • Inverted Wooden Roof Wedge and Stonebrick Frame now require Journeyman Craftsman instead of Master Craftsman
  • Black rocks in the starting desert are now harvestable
  • Higher grade tools now yields greater amounts of secondary resources (Bark/branches)
  • Resetting your Knowledge Points no longer causes you to lose your selected religion
  • Removed Corruption sources from starting area caves
  • Removed the Regen component from Purified Meat. This perk is reserved to Mitra’s Ambrosia and Healing Potions. Purified Meat is still an extremely good food source
  • Player corpses can only be harvested for religious purposes once every 30 minutes
  • Balance pass on the amount of materials requires for basic chemistry potions
  • Armor drops removed from chests
  • Emus now give less XP

Balance pass on Bows

  • Simple Bow range has been increased

  • Crossbow range has been reduced but they now shoot much faster

Visual Improvements

  • The Dogs of the Desert finally got their uniform shipment and are now donning their new outfits
  • Visual adjustment to the Medium Tasset to reduce clipping issues
  • Visual adjustments to the Setite Choker and Shendyt to reduce clipping issues
  • Updated Cutlass and Falcata icons
  • Visual flair added to several hairstyles
  • Visual improvements to female heads

It will also be made available as an Xbox One Game Preview title in the spring , with PlayStation 4 planned for a later date.

Conan Exiles Race And Religion Guide – Summoning Avatars, Best Religions

15 Feb

This Conan Exiles race and religion guide will highlight the benefits and downsides of each religion available in the game right now as well as shed some more information on the difference races players can choose from.

Conan Exiles allows players to choose their own race and religion which adds another depth of roleplaying to the open world survival. While race has no effect on gameplay besides the looks of the character, selecting the right religion at the start will impact on how the player progresses through the game.

For more help on Conan Exiles, read out our Thrall Capturing Guide, Thrall Capturing Guide, and Leveling Guide.

Conan Exiles Race and Religion Guide

There are more than 10 races in the world of Conan Exiles although players can’t select all of them as their race when creating a character. That being said, there are still a considerable amount of options to choose from with some races having unique cosmetic changes such as build sizes, hair type and skin color.

Conan Exiles Race and Religion

  • Hyborian: these are the natives of the land and the most iconic race in the Conan franchise, descended from a tribe of northern barbarians.
  • Cimmerian: these are raiders who also happen to be descendants of the fabled Atlanteans
  • Stygian: ruled by a monarchy which is in turn controlled by priests of Set
  • Hyrkanian/Turanian: they have a seaside empire and originated from emancipated slaves
  • Khitan: mysterious sorcerers and not much is known about their origins
  • Pict: warriors who love to fight and will engage in battle with everyone
  • Shemite: nomads who are also skilled in craftsmenship and archery
  • Darfari: murderous bandits who roam the lands and dress up as demons
  • Zamorian: known throughout the world as master thieves
  • Zingaran: nobel Zingarans are known for their skilled and chivalrous swordsmanship while sailors are considered brutes

As stated earlier, Religion does impact the gameplay although the religion they select at the very start can be changed later if players feel like it. The starting god allows players access to some unique recipes and as they level up, they gain points and can change their preferred religion for access to recipes from another god.

After gaining enough favor with a god, players will also be able to summon their Avatars to wreak havoc on their enemies.

Currently in Conan Exiles, there are only four Religions to choose from and the Conan Exiles Race and Religion Guide will highlight the benefits and downsides of them all. Three more gods will be added to the game as development continues.

The most basic god in the game who doesn’t offer any benefits to player and as such doesn’t require any worship either. This is a good pick for those players who are still undecided on which god to select at the start.

The god of serpents and sacrifice, players can summon his avatar which is a giant snake that can coil itself around structures and then destroy them. Followers of Set gain poison immunity and ability to craft poison arrows

He is known as the god of cannibals and selecting him as the player’s god will allow them to eat the flesh of other humans instead of just having to rely on animals and monsters for food. He also improves weapons and armor

Mitra is the god of right and justice and is the most preferred deity in the Hyborian realms. Mitra’s followers can create sacred statues, clothes and healing consumables.

To gain favor with each god, players need to perform some specific actions which go alongside the god’s style. A Setite Ritual Knife used to cut out the heart of enemies at the altar of Set grants favor with Set. Using a cleaver to harvest unblemished human flesh from bodies and then roasting it on a Yog pit grants favor with Yog while purifying fallen enemies with Mitraen Ankh grants favor with Mitra.

Players can change their religion by visiting the following NPCs in the world:

  • Jamila the Pirate Queen – become an acolyte of Mitra
  • Mek-Kamoses – become an acolyte of Set
  • Nunu the Cannibal – choose Yog as god

Conan Exiles Leveling Guide – Level Up Fast, Solo Leveling, Quick Leveling Tips

15 Feb

While players are free to choose however they want to level up, this Conan Exiles leveling guide will focus on highlighting the best possible routes to take to survive in the harsh land of Hyboria.

Like every other sandbox survival game out there, Conan Exile’s progression is also locked behind a leveling system.

For more help on Conan Exiles, read out our Thrall Capturing Guide, Thrall Capturing Guide, and Race & Religion Guide.

Conan Exiles Leveling Guide

Although the game is designed to be played in a group because of the grind and the resources required for pretty much everything, solo players can also jump in the world of Conan Exiles and not only enjoy the experience but also level up fairly quickly and become powerful enough to tackle various threats.

Conan Exiles Leveling Tips

While making the character, it is advisable to select Yog as their god for the cannibal tree.

As soon as players start their journey, they need to look to a rock to their side, right below another dead person on the cross. On the rock will be a water pouch which is extremely essential to surviving in the starting few levels as the desert heat will cause dehydration as players run around.

Once players have picked up the water pouch, they need to start moving straight north while collecting stones, branches and plant fiber from the surrounding area. There is no need to stray too far from the path as these resources are abundant in the area. By the time players reach the river north of their spawn, they should have at least 30 stones and 50 branches.

Since these starting resources are required for pretty much everything, there is no cap on how much the player should collect and in order to build tools such as pickaxe and hatchet, the more the player can gather, the better their chances would be.

Once at the river, players need to head west until they see some animals which can be hunted without having to worry about them fighting back. It is still advisable to craft a sleeping bag at this point and place it somewhere safe so if players die, they can respawn on it.

Players need to farm in this area for some time and build a campfire where they can safely store extra stone, wood and other similar items. Once these resources are abundant, players need to focus on building the Pit of Yog as well as a bone club.

After farming here for some time and ensuring that players have their weapons such as Sword and Bone club as well as ample supply of meat, they need to pick up the essential items and head further west to an oasis, near G9 on the map.

This area is filled with Gazelles as well as rocks that can be used to trap the animals in and prevent them from running. A javelin can be very useful here and a good replacement for the sword. Players need to make sure when they start hunting animals, they are forced towards the rocks so the animals get trapped and it is easy to kill them with javelins.

When the players finally level up enough to unlock iron equipment, they should head towards E7, the corruption area since it is filled with iron and stone making farming extremely bountiful.

To avoid carrying too much, it is best to set up shop here by building furnaces, blacksmithy and tannery. After players craft their iron swords, most enemies will be easy to defeat as long as players strafe and kite them around.

With the iron sword equipped, it is best to continue farming the hyenas and gazelles in this area until players are around level 20, at which point they should head for the nearby city to fight some humans where the bone club will be extremely useful.

Conan Exiles Leveling – Steel Tier And Base Building

Around level 30, players will be able to unlock and craft steel equipment. This is also the ideal time to start building a proper base while keeping in mind that it is to be used by a single player so no point in investing too many resources into building a huge base. The best places to build a base are around F7 and F8.

Players can also build their base near the small shop they set up in E7 where they built furnaces and blacksmithy since it will save the cost of building those things again. A Cliffside base is really useful to avoid all kinds of danger. If players build their base near E7, they can proceed northwest to D6 towards the Stygian city.

The NPCs in the city are clustered in groups of 2-4 and extremely easy to kill with steel weapons. These will be the main source of EXP for players while they farm around in the city.

The Bone club can be used to hit the dead NPCs for meat, which can be eaten by the player. To further improve survivability here, players should also upgrade to medium or heavy armor.

This Conan Exiles Leveling Guide will be updated with more tips as the game grows and more features are added.

Conan Exiles Camps And NPC Locations Guide – Find And Recruit Thralls, Learn Religions

15 Feb

This Conan Exiles Camps and NPC Locations guide will try to highlight as many useful locations as possible where players can find thralls and other resources.

While finding resources and enemies by yourself in an open world game has its own charm, when the world is as big and dangerous as the one in Conan Exiles, having a map can be quite handy.

These NPCs and Thralls can be captured and then broken on the wheel of pain so players can recruit them.

For more help on Conan Exiles, read out our Thrall Capturing Guide, Leveling Guide, and Race & Religion Guide.

Conan Exiles Camps And NPC Locations Guide

Since it is not possible to mark every location on the map, the guide will still include the most major and easy to find settlements so players don’t have to search around when they go on a farming run

Conan Exiles Camps And NPC Locations

Thrall Camps And Settlements

These camps are color coded according to the following key:

  • YS/ Yog Settlement: Yog’s altar surrounded by cannibals
  • SC/Set City: Dancers and Priests in a city filled with Set’s followers
  • Red: these are the most common Thrall camps with quite a few Thralls in them
  • PS/Pirate Ship: area is filled with Dancers and Priests and is tied to the Pirate Queen’s quest
  • Purple: these are major thrall settlements so players should be careful when venturing in there
  • Green: these are the camps players encounter at the very start of the game on the south side of the world and are easy to farm

Finding a desirable thrall in high level camps is not guaranteed although the chance increases since there are more spawn slots in settlements and major camps. However, the difficulty also rises when trying to invade such a camp.

Caves And NPC Locations

  • N3: Mek-Kamoses, the teacher of Set religion
  • S1/S2: cave of Giant Spider and its underlings
  • N5: Child of Jhebbal Sag, a NPC who might offer quests
  • C2: this cave has a room inside being guarded by the undead
  • GC: cave of the giant crocodile and multiple other smaller crocs
  • C3: a cave filled with numerous Thralls including Dancers and Priests
  • C1: cave of Hanuman filled with Imps and a statue that lies deep in the cave
  • UD: this cave leads to the Undead Dragon boss and has a Giant Snake inside it
  • N2: Jamila the pirate queen who can teach players the Mitra religion and unlock Mitra altar
  • N6: the cave leads to the ghost of the Giant King although he can’t be interactived with at the moment
  • N1: the NPC Nunu the Cannibal is here and can teach players the Yog religion and unlock tier 1 Yog Altar
  • N4: Arcos the Wanderer, who does exactly as the name suggests and just walks along the southern shore

This Conan Exiles Camps and NPC Locations Guide will be updated once more information is available and more content gets added to the game.

Conan Exiles Thrall Capturing Guide – Where To Find Thralls, How To Capture

15 Feb

Conan Exiles Thrall Capturing Guide to help you find and capture Thrall which are used for crafting possibilities and base defense.

Thralls are Conan Exiles version of dinosaurs from Ark Survival Evolved in a sense that they can be captured and recruited which results in player benefiting from them in various ways such as crafting possibilities and base defense.

For more help on Conan Exiles, read out our NPCs/Camps Locations Guide, Leveling Guide, and Race & Religion Guide.

Conan Exiles Thrall Capturing Guide

This Conan Exiles Thrall Capturing Guide will help players to find all the different types of thralls in the game and guide them through the recruitment process so players have an army of followers in no time.

Conan Exiles Thrall Capturing

Thralls are NPCs which can be captured and then placed in the player’s camp to either craft items or defend it against invasions depending on the type of thrall it is. Players need to be at least level 10 before they can start the process of capturing thralls.

Thrall Capturing Requirements
Besides being level 10, players also need to learn the Thrall Taker skill for 3 skill points which will allow them to craft Truncheons, Fiber Bindings and Lesser Wheel of Pain, all the essential tools required to enslave a thrall. Pretty much every NPC in the world can be captured provided they aren’t named story related characters.

However, each Thrall has a different specialization, for example, someone might be good at archery while another thrall might be a dancer or a craftsman. Players need to make sure they don’t capture all the same types of thralls and their captives should have a diversity to them for various skills.

Breaking Thralls

Once players find the right NPC they want to capture, they need to knock them out with the Truncheon, tie them with Fiber Bindings and then drag the unconscious NPC to their Wheel of Pain. Like any crafting station, players need to add fuel and ingredient to the wheel of pain which in this case happens to be food and the NPC respectively. Keep an eye out on the food in the wheel of pain and make sure it doesn’t run out.

Slowly over time, the wheel of pain will break the thrall and they will finally submit to the player which will allow them to be picked up and placed in the player inventory like every other item. From the inventory, the thrall can be placed on the ground to wherever the player feels like they are needed.

It is best to place fighters such as swordsman and archers near the walls of the player base so they can defend it while dancers, blacksmith, and similar thralls should be near crafting stations so they can build stuff for the player.

Conan Exiles currently has the following Thrall types available:

  • Priests: are required to summon Avatars
  • Fighters: defend the base with melee combat
  • Archers: defend base with ranged attacks from high walls
  • Smiths: craft various items including powerful new equipment
  • Entertainers/Dancers: remove corruption from the player and restore maximum health

Thrall Factions

While players can capture most NPCs in the game, some faction thralls provide better bonuses compared to others and as such have specific locations where they can be found. The Conan Exiles Thrall Capturing guide will cover some of the factions in the game right now while more will be added soon as the game gets updated.

  • Dogs of the Desert: live to the north near mountains
  • Darfari Cannibals: are well-equipped cannibals with primitive weapons. Can be found north of the river
  • The Black Hand: are pirates that can be seen near the landlocked pirate ship on a rock formation and have pretty good weapons
  • Relic Hunters: live to the north west in their city which is very well guarded. Only high level and well equipped players should try to capture these

This is all we’ve on our Conan Exiles Thrall Guide. If there’s anything else you would like to add, let us know in the comments section below!

Conan Exiles Dedicated Server Guide, How To Set Up Your Own Dedicated Server

13 Feb

Alongside the option to join Official or Unofficial public servers, Funcom has also provided players the tools to host their own Conan Exiles dedicated server. Hosting a Conan Exiles dedicated server can be a bit confusing at first but hopefully, this walkthrough will help make the process easier for people who are interested in hosting one for their friends.

Conan Exiles Dedicated Server Walkthrough

This walkthrough will try to cover as many steps as possible to host your very own Conan Exiles dedicated server and will also list down the things needed to host the server.

Required Files

  • Download SteamCMD to get access to the dedicated server files, once downloaded, the file needs to be extracted in a separate folder
  • Open the steamcd folder that was just extracted and create a new text document named ConanUpdater.bat
  • Open ConanUpdater.bat in notepad and the past the following line:

@echo off start “” steamcmd.exe +login anonymous +force_install_dir “C:PathToConanServer” +app_update 443030 +quit

  • The portion “C:PathToConanServer” needs to be replaced by the location where you want to download the server files for example C:ConanServer
  • Once this is done, you can run save the notepad file and then run ConanUpdater.bat which will result in SteamCMD downloading all the required files.

Conan Exiles Dedicated Server Start Walkthrough

  • Open up the folder where ConanUpdater.bat downloaded the Conan Exiles dedicated server files
  • Create a new text document called ConanServer.bat, open it in notepad and add this line “start ConanSandboxServer.exe –log”
  • Save the file and run ConanServer.bat which will generate configuration files stored in C:ConanServerConanSandboxSavedConfigWindowsServer

Port Forwarding

Conan Exiles needs the following UDP ports forwarded for the server to function: UDP 7777, 7778, 27015.

Server Configuration

Once all the previous steps of this Conan Exiles dedicated server walkthrough have been completed, you can proceed to configuring the server settings.

  • Open up Engine.ini file located in “ConanSandboxSavedConfigWindowsServer”

This section will allow you to set the name for the server that is displayed in the in-game server list as well as a password for it. AsyncTaskTimeout should be high enough so the server can boot especially for weak hardware machines.

  • Open Game.ini to set the maximum number of players which can be in the server at one time
  • ServerSettings.ini will allow you to set up some other server features such as turning nudity on or off, setting the server type to PvE, PvP or PvP Blitz, setting the server region, enable or disable BattleEye as well as set an admin password for the server.

Conan Exiles sold 320,000 copies its first week, servers coming back, mod tools go live

10 Feb

That’s quite a bit of Conan Exiles news in one headline, isn’t it?

conan_exiles (5)

Funcom announced the sales figures for Conan Exiles this morning, along with the release of modding tools and news on the return of official servers.

During its first week, the open-world, multiplayer survival game sold 320,000 copies, and has also dominated the Steam’s Global Top Seller List. It went into early access on the service January 30.

“We are deeply humbled and very grateful for the initial success of Conan Exiles,” said Funcom CEO Rui Casais in the press release. “Funcom has gone through some challenging times in recent years and seeing the game we have poured so much time and effort into gain this amount of traction so quickly is very invigorating for everyone who works here.

“This is just the start of the Early Access adventure and we will do whatever it takes to make sure Conan Exiles turns into a fully-fledged game that has something to offer new and old fans of both Conan and survival games.”

Get your modding on

Back in January, the studio announced it would release the custom Conan Exiles Dev Kit, which would allow folks to create mods for the game.

Modders will need to download the Epic Games launcher, and once created, the mods can be uploaded to the Steam Workshop. To get the launcher, head over to the Unreal Engine website, click the button that says “Get Unreal”, and under the “Get Unreal Engine” hit the download button.

According to Funcom, the kit will allow creators to make “small changes and quality of life improvements,” total conversion mods, add additional creatures, characters, and worlds.

Official servers going back online

Due to issues with lag and server crashes, last week, the developer took the official multiplayer servers offline for Conan Exiles.

Because of the influx of players and the “overwhelming demand,” PingPerfect’s hardware was unable to handle the load, so Funcom dissolved the partnership. The firm started searching for a hosting company which could deliver “the level of quality and service” required.

It seems a new partner has been found, because new official servers are now coming online. Alternatively, players can still log into one of the 12,000 privately run servers if preferred.

The team has been working since launch to iron out the teething issues, resulting in the game being patched many times over the past two weeks.

Going forward, the Conan Exiles team will be divided into two groups: one will focus on fixing issues and optimizing performance, and the other will work on adding new content and features.

Conan Exiles is in development for PC,PS4 and Xbox One.

It will also be made available as an Xbox One Game Preview title in the spring , with PlayStation 4 planned for a later date.

Conan Exiles aims for “the line between Skyrim and Minecraft”, genital slider about “equality and all that”

7 Feb

Conan Exiles doesn’t want to be a crafting survival clone, but to present a unique world influenced by its source material.

Conan Exiles developer Funcom participated in a Reddit AMA over the weekend to answer burning questions about the Early Access title everyone was talking about last week.

Naturally, the top question was about the game’s nudity and male genital sliders, which has resulted in some hilarious Conan Exiles GIFs of ballsacks flapping about.

“We discussed nudity early on and decided that for the lore and setting, nudity was something we wanted to go with,” Funcom said.

“The slider was a natural evolution of that, especially seeing we had a similar slider for breasts. Equality and all that.”

But Conan Exiles isn’t supposed to be just that game famous for people running around without their underoos. Funcom said its vision for the game is to “find the line between Skyrim and Minecraft”.

We want to have a game where NPCs inhabit a living, breathing world, but where players make a real impact on the environment and become a part of that world.”

“We want to have a game where NPCs inhabit a living, breathing world, but where players make a real impact on the environment and become a part of that world. Through the thrall system we hope to introduce complex behaviours that allow you to build your own cities and towns and as we add features such as the Purge, we are going to be trying to create a dynamic world that challenges your right to survive.”

Asked for more details, Funcom said it wants NPCs to follow schedules and to remember their relationships to players. This includes thralls, who will be able to be employed as mercenaries if rescued, rather than enslaved, if you prefer.

As for what makes Conan Exiles stand out from other survival crafting sandboxes like Ark: Survival Evolved, Rust and DayZ, Funcom said “close quarters melee, sorcery, fatalities, lore, thralls, religion and avatars etc”.

“Plus the Conan world is an interesting place, above and beyond just being a random map,” the spokesperson added.

Here are a few things Funcom assured Conan Exiles players would be improved or implemented during Early Access:

There were a couple of questions about Conan Exiles migrating to new servers after the original platform couldn’t handle demand. Funcom said all player progress will be retained in the move, and reiterated that demand surprised it.

“We didn’t expect the demand we have received. Can’t comment on specific numbers due to public company rules etc,” Funcom said.

“We stress tested the game with 70 plus people on external (not our own) hardware multiple times. We never dropped below 10 server frames which we deemed acceptable performance for a full load server. We did not see the issues that the official servers were seeing.

“We have, however, launched multiplayer games before so we know that when you go to scale, things can go wrong. See Diablo 3 for an example of a very well prepared company that still got caught unawares by demand. That was also a part of our decision to do early access, so we can have a more understanding audience who will work with us to improve any issues we have.”

There’s plenty more about Conan Exiles in the full Q&A, so hit the source link above for all the details.

Conan Exiles Errors, Crashes, Bugs, Black Screen, Server, Key Bindings and Fixes

6 Feb

The name alone, “Conan the Barbarian” is sufficient to sell any game. However, Funcom wanted to do it right by making an open world RPG. After the delay, the early access of the game is available on Steam and it seems to have draw attention of a lot of gamers. Since the game is in […]

Conan Exiles Official Servers Temporarily Shutdown As Funcom Ends Partnership With Hosting Company

6 Feb

Conan Exiles hasn’t had the fun launch which fans or Funcom might have hoped for. Thankfully that might change soon as developers announced some changes to Conan Exiles official servers. According to Funcom, the system requirements for Conan Exiles official servers are a bit too high and their current server partner was unable to properly […]

Official Conan Exiles servers temporarily shuttered while Funcom searches for service with “ideal hardware”

4 Feb

Those experiencing lag playing early access title Conan Exiles will be pleased to know more is being done to fix the issue, which will hopefully ease frustrations a bit. Unfortunately, this means the official multiplayer servers have had to be temporarily taken offline.

conan_exiles (2)

When Conan Exiles released through Steam Early Access earlier this week, Funcom limited the online game to 100 public servers. The number was upped to 200 in order to help ease server strain, but it didn’t seem to help matters.

Due to the issues, the partnership between Funcom and PingPerfect, which hosted the official multiplayer servers, has been dissolved.

“Unfortunately, due to the overwhelming demand for servers and our needs for administrating them, our official partner has been unable to deliver the level of quality and service we require,” said Funcom on Steam. “Because of this, we have mutually agreed to end the partnership.

“We are in the process of finding new partners with the ideal hardware we can move the existing game databases to. However, due to the high demand for Conan Exiles servers, many hosting companies are simply out of the hardware that we need and as such this process might take a few days.”

In other words, the official servers have been taken offline, and players will need to continue playing on one of the 7,500 privately run servers available. These can be found when looking over the Options menus and clicking on Server Settings GUI.

“We sincerely apologize to everyone who has played and made progress on the official servers, but we think it is better to deal with this problem now rather than later.”

Funcom said it’s keeping the game databases from the old servers and plan to re-implement them when the new servers roll out. This includes characters, buildings, progression and more.

The teams has already released several patches, and the next update is in the works. The current focus is on the most pressing issues such as rubberbanding, disconnects, and other server related issues. Once that is “under control,” the team will start “looking closer at gameplay improvements” as well as new content and features.

Conan Exiles is currently without a release date, and upon being finished, it’s slated to arrive on Xbox One and PS4.

This spring, it will be released through the Xbox One Game Preview program.

Conan Exiles Cracked After Denuvo Removal

Funcom’s latest update for its famous open-world survival game has caused the team a little trouble, as it accidentally removed Denuvo. As a result, the game has been pirated in one day and there are a lot of Conan Exiles Cracked copies online. Something similar happened to Resident Evil 7, when a group of hackers managed […]

Conan Exiles in Early Access “no more than a year”: upcoming features include mounts, siege weapons, sorcery system

31 Jan

Do you want to throw a rotting corpse with a trebuchet? Of course you do.

Conan Exiles developer Funcom has said that it doesn’t expect the new survival adventure game to be in Early Access for longer than a year.

It also detailed a number of features and content it intends to roll out during the next 12 months, as well as tailoring its content to the needs of the players.

“Full and final launch will happen later – we do not expect Early Access to last more than a year,” it said.

While the game is already live with multiple features, Funcom has also gone into some detail on the additions we can expect over the next 12 months, including building siege weapons, learning the dark arts of sorcery, taming mounts and expanded religion and thrall systems

Conan Exiles upcoming features

  • Mounts and taming: Later in Early Access we’ll implement mounts and a way to tame them. Mounts will function as transportation methods, and we hope to add mounted combat, but we won’t implement warmounts that fight for you.
  • Expanded religion system: We want to expand it with doctrines that require you to act a certain way for a period of time in order to gain favor from your god.
  • Siege weapons: We’re working on implementing the trebuchet into the game soon, allowing you to attack other player’s fortifications with massive rocks. We’re also going to let you shoot rotting corpses with the trebuchet!
  • Clothes customization: We want players to express themselves through the clothes their exile wears, which is why we will soon implement a system for players to dye and customize their clothes.
  • Expanded thrall system: For now thralls act as guards or craftsman. We wish to expand this system to thralls can also work as hunter/gatherers for the player. Thrall scheduling and city management will also be added to the game, as well as thrall upkeep with food.
  • Biomes: We launch with the desert biome and will add other biomes during the Early Access period.
  • Hitbox damage: We will set up damage amounts for the different body parts during Early Access.
  • Sorcery system: Magic is an important part of Conan’s world and so it will be a part of Conan Exiles. You won’t get access to fireball and similar types of combat magic, but going from a starving exile to a dark sorcerer will be a path you can take. It will, however, be long and difficult.

Conan Exiles’ Early Access servers are taking the strain, limited to 100 public servers on release

Funcom creating tags so you can find the right community to play with; private servers available from the get go.

Conan Exiles has gone live via Steam’s Early Access service today and it’s already proving popular, putting a strain on servers at launch.

The survival game has 100 public servers live and hosted by Pingperfect, each with the capacity to host 70 players in total. Funcom has said it will increase this throughout the Early Access period.

There are two types of public servers: Blitz, which reset after 30 days, and default servers that will not be wiped.

Funcom has also created a number of tags on the Early Access servers too, so you can find the right community of players for you. They are; Purist, Relaxed, Hardcore, Roleplaying and Experimental.

Developer Funcom has said it’s working on fixes to enable players to access the game today, and asking for a little patience as well as offering a smidgen of advice to Early Access players.

Conan Exiles also supports private servers, which Early Access players can find via Options > Server Settings GUI. It’s here you can enable PvP gameplay, turn the sandstorm on and off, decide what players lose when they die, as well as full access to the admin panel for a lot more control.

Conan Exiles Early Access servers are open right now, here’s another trailer since you can’t get enough of it

31 Jan

Conan Exiles has arrived on Early Access. Oh you already knew? But you’re clicking anyway? Amazing.

Conan Exiles is going off, isn’t it? It’s been all over Twitch and Twitter today, even though it only officially opens its doors like, right now.

Is it the classic low fantasy setting? The promise of a new Funcom multiplayer game with player creation and survival aspects? The numerous flapping cock and balls GIFs doing the rounds? Who knows! All we know is, Conan Exiles is officially Hot Stuff.

Whatever your reason for desperately wanting in, you don’t need an invite code any more; if you want to play Conan Exiles and help Funcom shape it ahead of full release, you may do so immediately. Simply buy your way in via Steam for $30; the servers are online now.

Conan Exiles is also coming to PS4 and Xbox One, although the mod and private server support makes the PC version sound pretty attractive – especially if you don’t want to wait out the ports.

Conan Exiles supports single-player for those after a solo experience, allows you to build cities and knock down anything that displeases you, and encourages you to trample your way to dominance of the game world through might, preferably over a mountain of your enemy’s skulls. It’s hard not to like the sound of, hey.
