US outlines how it will cut 28 percent of greenhouse gas emissions by 2025

31 Mar

The United States began to outline today how it will achieve the goal of cutting greenhouse gas emissions by 28 percent by the end of 2025. In a submission to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, the United States says that it will use executive actions, largely under the Clean Air Act, to cut carbon pollution from new and existing power plants, improve fuel economy standards, and limit methane emissions from landfills and the oil and gas sectors. The submission comes ahead of a UN climate conference in Paris meant to coordinate a global response to climate change and prevent the Earth from warming more than 2 degrees Celsius, a widely accepted target for limiting the effects of warming.

First Gameplay Trailer Uploaded for Call of Duty Online

31 Mar

A gameplay trailer has popped up for Call of Duty Online, the free-to-play title which was announced last July by Activision and Tencent.

The game is in development specifically for the Chinese audience, with seemingly no plans to bring it over to other regions. Call of Duty Online is going to be based on the Modern Warfare titles, where the game will include maps and settings from the original Modern Warfare and Modern Warfare 2 games.

A microtransaction model featured inside will allow players to purchase or rent in-game items. The game itself is said to feature the Hero Ops single-player campaign, Co-Op Survival Mode, competitive multiplayer, and the newly created, China exclusive Cyborgs mode.

This is going to be the first time that China experiences an official taste of Call of Duty. The player-base there have mostly been into clones of the franchise, due to a ban on video game consoles which has been around for China for more than a decade.

Earlier this year, Call of Duty Online entered open beta. Call of Duty Online will test the waters of one of the largest market for games and see if the audience there will bite the same way the west has for each installment in the franchise.

Top Gear: Andy Wilman is not Resigning, Email was Not for Public

31 Mar

top gear
Andy Wilman, Top Gear’s executive producer confirms in a statement that he is not leaving the show.

This statement was a reaction of his own email that leaked earlier and was rumored to be a resignation letter although it was intended as a private ‘note of thanks’. The email was sent to 113 members of the Top Gear family to thank and appreciate them.

The email was sent after Jeremy Clarkson was dropped by BBC and the studios denied to renew his contract because of a ‘fracas’ with a Top Gear producer. Clarkson was Wiman’s old school friend and they both began a new era of Top Gear in 2002.

Here are some bits of the email he sent as a token of appreciation:

“Well, at least we left ‘em wanting more. And that alone, when you think about it, is quite an achievement for a show that started 13 years ago. For those of you who still rely on it for work, don’t worry, because the BBC will make sure the show continues. Our stint as guardians of Top Gear was a good one, but we were only part of the show’s history, not the whole of it. Those two words are bigger than us.”

Wilman said in his statement, “The email I wrote yesterday was not a resignation statement, and nor was it meant for public consumption.”

What Wilman does not understand is everyone’s obsession with retweeting, sharing and leaking personal things. He condemns unnecessary distribution of private data and says that people must respect each other and their views.

Fast & Furious: Legacy Tips, Cheats and Strategies

31 Mar
FFL_splash

Tie a new Fast & Furious game into just the movie that’s coming out this April? Perish the thought.

Kabam changes things up a bit with Fast & Furious: Legacy, embracing the entire movie franchise and the way it’s morphed over time from being all about cars to crazy action that just happens to have a strong automotive undercurrent. Not only will you find plenty of your favorite heroes and villains from throughout the series in the new game, but there are more over-the-top stunts thrown in to boot.

Never fear, though, as racing is still very much the primary objective, followed closely by getting a bunch of awesome cars. We can help you accomplish both with Gamezebo’s Fast & Furious: Legacy Tips, Cheats & Strategies, so put the pedal down and motor through them with us.

Fast & Furious Legacy Tips Cheats Strategies

  • The three different kinds of racing take slightly different skills. The simplest is drag racing, which is all about timing. The trick to getting a great start is revving the engine until the needle is in the launch zone, then tapping the ‘Launch’ button just when the countdown is complete. After launch, all you need to do is tap to shift right before the RPM needle hits the red for best results. Don’t forget to tap the nitrous for an extra bost of speed if needed.
  • Street racing uses the same timing at the start, but it’s a different beast out on the road. Tapping left and right switches lanes, but to go fastest, you need to draft off the other cars on the road. Drafting for as long as possible and switching lanes right before you are about to run into a car helps refill your nitrous, which you should use as soon as you get it to keep going fast. Jumps can also refill your N20, but watch out on the landing, as you’ll sometimes want to immediately tap to get back on the road.
  • Some street races turn into stages where you are being chased by the police. To win these races, you need to make it to the finish without being caught by a pursuing cop car, but be wary of the other cars on the road. Police cars will occasionally try to block you by spinning sideways to block your path, and you’ll need to quickly tap to make it all the way to the far lane to avoid them.

Fast & Furious Legacy Tips Cheats Strategies

  • The final kind of street race that will pop up in the game’s story mode is called Takedown. The objective here is to ram into a specific car a number of times, which will eventually get them to flip over, incapacitating the bad guy driving it. All of the previous advice on street racing still applies, but you’ll actually want to avoid going too fast at some points lest you blow by the target car and have to wait for it to catch up.
  • Drifting probably requires the most skill and/or practice. Again, the launch technique is the same, and you’ll want to use nitrous as often as you can. Refilling it requires you to keep your car centered on the line of arrows that is on the track as much as you can. Just hold a finger on the screen and drag to turn the car — no need to worry about shifting — and watch to see if what color the arrows turn. Green means you’re right on the correct line, yellow indicates you are close, and red means you’re way off and should adjust to get back to the center as quickly as possible.

Fast & Furious Legacy Tips Cheats Strategies

  • Ranked races offer a way to get some extra rewards that can help get your car better prepared for the story mode levels. You’ll be racing against ghost runs done by other human players, so the difficulty can vary wildly. If you aren’t so good at one particular type of racing (for me, it’s drifting), no worries. The race types alternate with each win or loss.
  • Performance upgrades can be done to six different areas of your car: engine, nitrous, suspension, tires, gearbox and chassis. You’ll need both a specified number of coins and the right number of wrenches to perform any upgrade.
  • After five upgrades, that area of your car will be maxed out. You can boost it to the next level by using parts, which you can win as race rewards or purchase with gold in crates in the game’s store. There are specific types of parts for different classes of cars, which start at class E and go up from there.

Fast & Furious Legacy Tips Cheats Strategies

  • You’ll only get to race five times before your car needs an oil change. The good news is that it doesn’t cost anything. The bad news is that it takes several hours to complete, and you can only have one car serviced at a time. There are three ways to speed this up: leveling up, which automatically changes the oil for all your cars, using a speed-up item or by joining a Crew and asking your fellow members for help. It’s good etiquette to help them out in return.
  • The cosmetic upgrades, things like paint, vinyls, tires and spoilers, don’t make your car faster or turn any better. You shouldn’t discount them completely, though, because every cosmetic addition increases your ride’s style points. When you have enough of them, style points can give you extra coins and other resources every time you race, which can be quite helpful. Consider some cosmetic work if it’s a car you know you’re going to use often and you can spare the gold.
  • The reason you might not have the gold to spare is that new cars are quite expensive. Standard crates, which can hold cars from class E on up, aren’t too bad, but the premium crates, which ensure you get at least a class D vehicle, will set you back a four-digit sum. To max out your garage, you’ll likely want to save up your gold for new cars. Multiples of the same car aren’t as bad as they seem either, as four of any stock car can be traded in for its performance version, which is much faster.

Windows 10’s new Music and Video apps finally drop the Xbox naming

31 Mar

Microsoft appears to be moving away from its Xbox Music and Xbox Video branding. Two new Music and Video apps for Windows 10 have debuted today, and they both drop the Xbox brand in favor of simplified names. Microsoft’s Xbox Music naming has undoubtedly been confusing, with some consumers questioning whether the music service only works on the company’s gaming console. This new naming in Windows 10 means users won’t have to search around for an Xbox-branded app that’s on their PCs; it’s just Music and Video like it is on most modern operating systems.

Some minor UI tweaks and changes for now

While the new Music and Video Preview apps are mostly the same as the ones found in Windows 8.1, Microsoft is taking the opportunity to tweak...

New 60 FPS Trailer for GTA V PC Promised This Week

31 Mar

GTA V - 4K

Rockstar Games has promised to release a new trailer for the PC version of GTA V later this week, which will show just how smooth the game runs at 60 frames-per-second. According to the announcement, the trailer will be released this Thursday April 2 at 10am ET (7am PT / 3pm BST)

The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game are currently running at 1080p at just 30 frames-per-second. The PC port however, has been promised by the developer to run at the magical 60 frames-per-second mark.

In addition to that, and plenty of other improvements, the PC version will also launch with more music than its console counterparts. That is, if the game finally does release on its new date.

GTA V was supposed to release on the PC in January this year. The date however, was pushed back to March, much to the disappointment of fans. That was followed by Rockstar delaying it yet again to the now April 14 date.

In fact, all of these delays have made the PC crowd so paranoid that Rockstar’s recent releasing of screenshots showing the game in 4K glory, and the soon to be released new trailer, has made many wonder whether Rockstar is going to delay the game again. What better way of delivering bad news, by first getting their hopes up high?

April’s PlayStation Plus Games Revealed – Never Alone, Killzone Mercenary and More

31 Mar

Dishonored

Sony has announced six new titles for the month of April as part of its Instant Game Collection program for PlayStation Plus users, which coincidentally could be to match the recent announcement of Microsoft involving six of their freebies as well.

The first game is Tower of Guns for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3, a rogue-like first-person shooter where each level is randomly generated to surprise players.

The second offering is Aaru’s Awakening, a 2D action-platformer where players take charge of a mythical creature who has to juggle his teleportation and charging skills to make it through the levels. Like the first, this will also be available on both PlayStation consoles.

For the PlayStation 4 alone, Never Alone is a puzzle-platformer where players will get to explore the world of Alaska Native stories alongside your fox companion. Over on the PlayStation 3, the fabulous stealth and roof-jumping Dishonored is going to be free for the month.

Finally, Vita owners will have the chance to try out Killzone: Mercenary, or the puzzle-platformer MonsterBag.

All of the above games become available on April 8, which is also when March’s offerings disappear.

Vin Diesel Teases Fans With Furious 8

31 Mar

vin diesel
Vin Diesel has hinted fans with a possibility of Fast and Furious’ eighth installment on Jimmy Kimmel Live! this Monday.

The star was on the show to promote Furious 7 hitting cinemas this Friday; he teased fans about Furious 8, how it will connect to the previous parts and where it will take place.

Kurt Russell who joined the cast for Furious 7 will play a much bigger and extensive character in the ‘maybe’ upcoming installment. He also added that Furious 8 would take the cast to New York where Russell’s character will be in the spotlight.

“You know I always think of these films multiple pictures in advance, I think of them as trilogies. We really hired him because of a story that follows us, that takes place in New York.”

Diesel explained that in a meeting with Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook’s creator, Diesel asked Zuckerberg to do a bit of a work on his Facebook page. “I said I wanted to take some of the spam off my page.”

During the meeting Zuckerberg said, “I want another ‘XXX,’” Diesel after consideration decided that it was just one person who told him upfront what he wants there might be more people who would enjoy a sequel to his athlete-turned spy movie.

Although he has not yet confirmed it but he hinted (again) that, there might be another ‘XXX’. The 2002 original movie revolved around Xander Cage (Vin Diesel), who apparently died at the end of XXX: State of the Union. Now that the star is planning to make a sequel, Cage might still be alive somewhere out there.

Fast and Furious 7 premieres this Friday April 3.

Cancelled ZombiU 2 game would have contained co-op – report

31 Mar

ZombiU 2, which popped up on Amazon France back in November, was apparently in development before being cancelled and contained co-op, according to someone in-the-know.

According to a recent podcast featuring Unseen64’s Liam Robertson, ZombiU 2 development started in early 2013 but never left the pre-production phase.

Robertson said he had seen a single image from the game, and it was similar to the original title aesthetically and the developer he spoke with was “very adamant about trying to do co-op survival horror properly,” without any of the tension.

An idea for the game being considered was the ability for players to take divergent, multiple paths in order to stay true to the “survival aspect” of the title.

Like the local multiplayer option in the previous game, one player would have used the Pro controller and the other player the Wii U GamePad. Roberts was unsure whether co-op was once again local, or online. The documents he saw didn’t contain information on the online aspects.

Ubisoft announced last year Watch Dogs would be its last mature title to be released on Wii U because Nintendo customers weren’t interested.

After many delays, Watch Dogs was finally released on Wii U in November 2014.

Thanks, Nintendo Everything.

Brush Master Lets You Paint it Black (and Red and Blue and Yellow)

31 Mar
brushmaster_featured

Brush Master from Inter-Illusion is a game about making the biggest mess possible within sixty seconds. Incidentally, this is a skill that fades from our person around the time we exit kindergarten, and it’s a skill we should all re-discover.

Brush Master doesn’t encourage aimless mess-making, however. This is competitive mess making, son.

brushmaster_01

You pilot a paint roller that carries within it an endless supply of paint. You roll across a page, smearing your crimson mark wherever you go. Your aim is to cover up the colorful spoor of the other rollers occupying your territory. Blue, yellow, purple – it’s all gotta go When the ticker expires, the painter with the most coverage on the page is declared the winner.

Brush Master is a snap to pick up, and muscling competitors out of your “yard” via non-violent (but totally effective) methods is a lot of gratifying fun. The game’s multiplayer options are slightly anemic, however: Up to four players can share one device, and there are scoring tournaments, but no option to go head-to-head with strangers.

Don’t let that stop you from slinging paint everywhere, though. Don’t let anything stop you from slinging paint everywhere. If you’re ready to get messy, Brush Master is available as a free download on the App Store and Google Play.
